Serving

We believe everyone is blessed with a spiritual gift. This gift is given to you by God so that you might serve the Kingdom, as well as others that you meet. Connecting and serving in our church go hand-in-hand. The more we serve, the more we connect with each other and Jesus Christ. If we can serve as the hands and feet of Jesus together, then the Kingdom of God will shine through.

What gift has God placed in you?

Worship Ministry

We all love to come to our worship services to reconnect with God and refresh ourselves to go out and do His work. We have many servants who assist in making sure that our worship services run smoothly and allow opportunities for worship and fellowship. If you are interested in being an usher, greeter, acolyte, lay speaker, or sanctuary decorator, CONTACT ANITA SEEHAUSEN.

Missions and Outreach

There are many across the globe and in our own local community that are hungry, tired, and lost. The Missions and Outreach ministry encompasses many different programs that Immanuel has connected or started in the past years. We are connected with Glen Ed Food Pantry, the HeadStart Program, Serving Area Kids Ministry, Angel Tree Ministries, and have started our Free Lunch Friday program. People who serve here should have a heart for reaching the disconnected and serving all who we encounter. If you have ideas for new missions, or want to plug into one of our many missions, CONTACT ANITA SEEHAUSEN.

Children’s Ministries

There are many places to serve in our Children’s Ministries here at Immanuel. Whether you want to serve in the nursery, create arts and crafts with young children, or mentor and guide the high school youth, there are many opportunities for leaders and volunteers in this ministry. We also have Kids Night Out, which allows parents a night off while we watch movies, eat snacks, and play games with young children. If you would like to serve in a particular area, here are the people to contact:

Nursery: Phyllis Fisher

K-3rd Grade: Kiffon Lewis

4-7th Grade: Kiffon Lewis

8-12th Grade: Trish Rader

Kids Night Out: Jill Winte

Small Groups

While we encourage members and non-members to connect with a Small Group, we certainly couldn’t build them without our faithful volunteers. People can serve in several roles for Small Groups. Our Small Group Leaders lead in group faith development and guide individuals to deep fellowship and connections. If you have a spiritual gift of hosting and opening up your home as a warm environment for fellowship, we also need Host Homes. Finally, if you have experience in babysitting or taking care of young children, we also need volunteers for Childcare during Small Group times. If you are interested in any one of these, CONTACT JORDAN GRAMMER.

United Methodist Woman

United Methodist Women: Faith • Hope • Love in Action – We are women with a Purpose!

“United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.” For more information contact Penny May

Praise Team

If your gift comes through music and high energy, the Praise Team is the ministry for you. People who serve here should have a basic understanding of music and a desire to worship God through song and sound. As a team, you will be leading the congregation into a passionate worship space that glorifies God through music. If you play an instrument or sing, CONTACT JORDAN GRAMMER.

Instrumental Music

Our Instrumental Music ministry uses a variety of orchestral and brass instruments to create a beautiful worship opportunity. People who serve here should be able to play an instrument that falls under strings or brass, and know how to read music. If you would like to join the Instrumental Music group, CONTACT BUTCH MESTEMACHER.

Sound and Tech

Throughout our worship services, we have an amazing group of people that control and maintain microphones, speakers, screen slides, and other forms of technology. This ministry partners with the various music ministries we have in ensuring that joyful noises are heard and words of grace are taken in. If you have a mind for technology or are interested in learning and serving in our tech department, CONTACT DAVE RADER
